Wilmington, Ohio – A stretch of dry, sunny days will end early this week as isolated thunderstorms threaten parts of southwest Ohio by Tuesday afternoon, with more unsettled weather continuing into Wednesday evening.

According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms will develop after 2 p.m. Tuesday, especially along and east of I-71. Precipitation chances remain at 20%, with another round of scattered storms expected Wednesday—most likely before 6 p.m.—as humidity builds and temperatures hover in the low 80s.

Cities including Wilmington, Xenia, and Hillsboro could see brief downpours, gusty winds, and wet road conditions during the Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon commutes. The risk of lightning may also delay or cancel outdoor events and sports practices. While widespread severe weather is not expected, residents should monitor the skies and secure outdoor items.

Storm chances remain low but possible through midweek. Additional weather statements may follow if conditions change.
