Dodge City, Kansas – Rain chances are increasing across southwest Kansas from Friday evening into Saturday morning, with the highest probabilities near the Kansas-Oklahoma border.
According to the National Weather Service in Dodge City, rainfall chances remain evident in the latest forecast, with probabilities reaching between 60% and 70% in communities closest to the KS/OK state line. Areas including Elkhart, Liberal and surrounding locations show the strongest potential for measurable rainfall.
Forecasters said the overall outlook remains largely unchanged from previous projections. However, confidence remains low regarding total rainfall amounts across the region.
Probability of precipitation values climb Friday afternoon and peak Friday night into early Saturday before tapering off later Saturday. Locations farther north and west, including areas near Hays and Wakeeney, are expected to see lower rain chances compared to south-central Kansas.
The greatest likelihood of rainfall is expected across south-central Kansas and along the Kansas-Oklahoma border corridor.
Drivers traveling Friday night and early Saturday should monitor updated forecasts, as wet roadways could affect overnight and early morning commutes.
