Omaha, Nebraska – Storms sweeping through northeast Nebraska on Sunday morning are bringing repeated rounds of rain that could cause localized flooding, especially in low-lying and poorly drained areas.
According to the National Weather Service in Omaha, scattered thunderstorms may intensify late Sunday evening into the overnight hours, with gusty winds and downpours most likely across northeast Nebraska. The chance of storms ranges from 20 to 40%, with the highest potential centered around Norfolk and Wayne.
The unsettled pattern won’t stop there. From Monday through Saturday, daily storm chances of 20 to 30% will persist, primarily during the evening and overnight. While not every area will see storms, those that do could experience brief but intense rainfall and lightning.

Residents in Omaha, Lincoln, and Council Bluffs should prepare for both heat and humidity, with outdoor activity best limited to mornings or evenings.
