Southwest Idaho Faces Critical Fire Weather Alert

Boise, ID – A critical fire weather alert has been issued for the Snake River Valley in southwest Idaho, effective Wednesday.

According to the National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center, dry and windy conditions are expected to prevail, with winds exceeding 20 mph in some areas. The region is experiencing 90th percentile fuels, heightening the risk of wildfires. While the conditions further east into south-central and southeastern Idaho are less severe, locally critical conditions may still occur.

Residents are urged to remain vigilant and follow fire safety guidelines during this period.
