Phoenix, AZ – A severe heat wave is expected to impact the Southwest this weekend, with temperatures forecasted to soar close to or above 110 degrees in El Centro, Yuma, and Phoenix. The National Weather Service in Phoenix predicts temperatures ranging between 111 and 113 degrees on Saturday in El Centro, with similar conditions in Yuma and Phoenix.

According to the National Weather Service, the Phoenix metro area could see temperatures reaching as high as 109 degrees by Sunday, while Yuma will experience slightly lower highs of 108 degrees. Despite the intense heat, storm chances remain minimal, ranging from 10% to 20% in Phoenix, Globe-Miami, and Yuma, with virtually no rain expected in El Centro.

Residents are advised to take precautions against the extreme heat, particularly in the afternoons, and to stay hydrated.
