Southern Wisconsin’s 4th of July Weather: Storms Possible, Cooler Friday Ahead

Milwaukee, WI – Southern Wisconsin is set to experience varied weather conditions over the Independence Day weekend, with the potential for thunderstorms and cooler temperatures later in the week.

According to the National Weather Service in Milwaukee, Wednesday will bring dry conditions with temperatures ranging from the low to mid-80s. Thursday morning will remain dry, but isolated showers and thunderstorms are expected in the afternoon, with storm chances increasing into the evening as a front approaches from the west. The best storm chance across southern Wisconsin will be from 9 p.m. Thursday to 6 a.m. Friday.

On Independence Day, partly cloudy skies are forecast with a 20-40% chance of afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms. Temperatures are expected to reach highs of 79 to 84 degrees, with lows between 62 and 68 degrees.

Friday will see cooler temperatures, with highs between 71 and 79 degrees and lows from 57 to 65 degrees. The day will feature a 50-75% chance of showers and thunderstorms. Saturday is predicted to be partly cloudy with a slight 10% chance of thunderstorms, and temperatures ranging from 75 to 81 degrees during the day and 59 to 66 degrees at night.

Looking ahead to Sunday, the weather is expected to warm up again, with highs between 79 and 86 degrees and lows from 60 to 68 degrees. There is a 20-50% chance of showers and thunderstorms.
