Southern Wisconsin Under Severe Thunderstorm Watch: 2” Hail, Tornadoes Possible

Milwaukee, WI – The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Southern Wisconsin, effective from Sunday afternoon until early Monday morning. The watch area extends approximately 60 miles north and south of a line from 45 miles south-southwest of Mason City, Iowa, to 55 miles south of Racine, Wisconsin.

The NWS warns that thunderstorms are expected to increase in coverage and intensity this evening, bringing threats of scattered damaging wind gusts up to 70 mph, isolated large hail up to 2 inches in diameter, and the possibility of a tornado or two. Residents are advised to remain alert and prepared for severe weather conditions.

According to the NWS, initially isolated hail-producing storms may evolve into a more significant threat for damaging winds as the evening progresses. A landspout tornado or two is also possible. Residents should monitor weather updates and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety.
