Milwaukee, WI – Southern Wisconsin will see mild temperatures Tuesday, but colder weather is expected to ring in the New Year. Highs will reach the middle to upper 30s during the day.
According to the National Weather Service in Milwaukee/Sullivan, wind chills will stay in the 20s during the day. By evening and overnight, wind chills will drop into the teens as temperatures dip into the 20s. Areas closer to Lake Michigan may see temperatures near 30 by midnight.
A slight chance of light rain or snow is possible during the day, with flurries anticipated in the evening. Locations near the Illinois border are more likely to experience precipitation.
The cold weather pattern will continue into the New Year. The National Weather Service predicts below-freezing temperatures through next week, with no significant warm-up expected.
Residents should plan accordingly for outdoor activities, particularly on New Year’s Eve. Bundle up to combat wind chills and dress in layers to stay warm. Those traveling should monitor road conditions due to the slight chance of snow or icy patches.
