Wakefield, VA – The National Weather Service in Wakefield has issued a Frost Advisory for portions of southern Virginia and northeastern North Carolina, in effect from 2 AM to 9 AM EDT Saturday, November 1.

The advisory includes Brunswick, Mecklenburg, Dinwiddie, Greensville, Sussex, and Southampton Counties in Virginia, and Bertie, Hertford, and Northampton Counties in North Carolina.

Forecasters warn that overnight temperatures in the low to mid-30s will lead to frost formation, particularly in rural and sheltered areas. Sensitive outdoor vegetation could be damaged or killed if left uncovered.

Residents are encouraged to cover plants or bring potted vegetation indoors ahead of the advisory period. Frost formation may be patchy but widespread enough to affect gardens and agricultural operations across the region.

Temperatures are expected to rebound quickly after sunrise Saturday, bringing a sunny and seasonably cool start to November.
