Houston, Texas – A noticeably warmer and more springlike pattern is expected to settle across southern Texas late next week, bringing above-normal temperatures and generally mild conditions from the Hill Country to the Gulf Coast.
According to the National Weather Service Climate Prediction Center, southern Texas is favored to trend warmer than average from Saturday through the following Friday as colder air remains locked well north of the region. The setup supports steady southerly flow off the Gulf, limiting the arrival of strong winter cold fronts.
In southeast Texas, including Houston and the upper Gulf Coast, daytime highs are expected to climb into the upper 60s and 70s, with overnight lows remaining mild for late January. Increased humidity may be noticeable at times, especially during afternoon and evening hours.
Across south-central Texas, including San Antonio and the Interstate 35 corridor, above-normal temperatures are also expected, supporting pleasant afternoons and cool but not cold mornings. Patchy early morning fog could develop, particularly in low-lying and rural areas.
Along the Coastal Bend, including Corpus Christi and surrounding communities, sea breezes may keep temperatures slightly cooler near the water, but overall warmth will remain above seasonal norms. With no significant cold fronts expected, the mild pattern appears steady through the end of the month, with updates to follow if conditions change.
