Klamath Falls, Oregon – Residents across southern Oregon and far northern California are bracing for strong winds through Wednesday morning as a Wind Advisory remains in effect for Klamath Falls, Tulelake, and surrounding areas. South winds between 25 and 35 mph, with gusts reaching 50 mph, are expected to continue overnight.

According to the National Weather Service in Medford, the advisory covers Northeast Siskiyou and Northwest Modoc Counties in California and the Klamath Basin in Oregon. The strongest winds are likely along open stretches of Highway 97 and rural areas where blowing dust and unsecured objects may become hazards.

Drivers of high-profile vehicles should use caution, especially on north–south routes where crosswinds could make steering difficult. A few scattered power outages are possible as branches and loose debris may impact power lines.

Conditions should gradually improve by late Wednesday morning, but residents are urged to secure outdoor items and avoid unnecessary travel until winds ease.

Warnings remain in effect until 10 a.m. Wednesday.
