Medford, OR – Oregon wakes to a damp start this Sunday morning as gray clouds hang low over the Rogue Valley. A steady round of light rain will move through early in the day, wetting roads and sidewalks before sunshine breaks through by afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service in Medford, a weak Pacific system is bringing scattered showers to southern Jackson County through late morning. Rain chances drop sharply after 11 a.m. as skies gradually clear. Winds will stay light, but travelers on I-5 and Highway 62 should expect brief slick spots during the morning hours.

Highs reach the mid-60s Sunday afternoon, followed by cooler air under mostly clear skies Sunday night. Monday and Tuesday will be classic October gems — sunny, calm, and mild, with highs in the upper 60s to mid-70s. These days offer prime conditions for outdoor projects, vineyard work, and early Halloween decorating.

By midweek, light clouds return but no significant rain is expected until Friday, when another weak system approaches from the coast. Temperatures remain steady, with cool mornings in the 40s and comfortable afternoons across southern Oregon valleys.

After a short burst of rain to refresh the landscape, residents can look forward to several golden, crisp fall days — a quiet pause before November’s wetter pattern begins to build.
