Medford, OR – The National Weather Service in Medford has issued multiple High Wind Warnings across southern Oregon and far northern California from Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday, with gusts reaching 60 to 70 mph in some areas.
The Oregon Coast, including Bandon, Port Orford, and Gold Beach, will see south winds of 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 65 mph from 4 p.m. Tuesday until 7 a.m. Wednesday. Conditions will be most severe along exposed capes and headlands such as Cape Blanco and Humbug Mountain, with difficult travel expected on Highway 101.
Farther inland, Klamath Falls, Tulelake, and Alturas are under a warning from 10 p.m. Tuesday until 10 a.m. Wednesday, where winds could gust up to 60 mph. In the southern Oregon Cascades and Siskiyou Mountains, peak gusts near 70 mph are expected between 1 a.m. and 7 a.m. Wednesday, particularly around Crater Lake, Diamond Lake, and Siskiyou Summit.
Across Lake and Modoc Counties, winds will continue through 4 p.m. Wednesday, impacting stretches of Highways 31, 97, 140, and 395.
According to the Weather Service, falling trees, power outages, and travel disruptions are likely. Residents are urged to secure outdoor items, avoid unnecessary travel, and stay clear of trees and power lines during peak gusts.
