Medford, OR – Southern Oregon and Northern California are gearing up for a warm Labor Day weekend. The National Weather Service in Medford issued a heat advisory for the region, warning residents of potential heat-related illnesses. Although temperatures aren’t expected to reach extreme levels, those sensitive to heat or engaged in strenuous outdoor activities should exercise caution.
According to the National Weather Service, the minor heat impacts will peak on Friday and Saturday. Afternoon temperatures will be warm enough to pose a risk for those who are sensitive to heat, particularly if they engage in exercise or work outdoors without proper hydration.
Residents are advised to stay hydrated, wear light clothing, and avoid excessive exercise during peak heat hours.
