Southern Ohio – A significant heat wave is expected to impact southern Ohio early next week, with temperatures soaring and heat indices reaching dangerous levels. Residents across the region are advised to prepare for extreme heat conditions.

According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, OH, heat indices of around 100 degrees are anticipated on both Monday and Tuesday afternoons. This Hazardous Weather Outlook covers southeast Indiana, northeast Kentucky, northern Kentucky, central Ohio, south-central Ohio, and southwest Ohio, impacting a broad swath of counties including Franklin, Hamilton, and Scioto.

The forecast for today remains clear with a high of 84 degrees. Tomorrow, the temperature is expected to reach 87 degrees under sunny skies. The weekend will continue with clear conditions and highs of 87 and 88 degrees on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

The outlook for Monday and Tuesday indicates potentially hazardous heat, with temperatures peaking at 92 and 90 degrees. The high heat indices will create dangerous conditions for outdoor activities. The midweek forecast predicts a slight reprieve with temperatures dropping to the low 80s by Wednesday.
