Portsmouth, OH – The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Scioto County, Ohio, and Lewis, Mason, and Robertson Counties in northern Kentucky, effective from 4 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday.
According to the NWS, snowfall totals are expected to remain under one inch, but temperatures near freezing will make even light accumulations hazardous. Slippery roads and reduced visibility could affect the Monday morning commute, particularly on bridges, overpasses, and rural roads.
Forecasters say the snow will begin before sunrise and taper off by early afternoon, though untreated surfaces may remain icy or slick throughout the day. Motorists are urged to slow down, use extra caution, and check GoKY.ky.gov or OHgo.com for real-time road information.
Officials also remind drivers that light snow events can be deceptively dangerous, with icy spots forming quickly in shaded or elevated areas.
