Portsmouth, OH – A year-long investigation by the Southern Ohio Organized & Major Crimes Task Force has uncovered an extensive illegal gambling operation stretching across multiple southern Ohio communities.

According to the Task Force, the probe focused on three establishments: Lucky Dog 7 in South Point, Three Kings in New Boston, and Three Aces in Portsmouth. The investigation has led to charges for Engaging in a Pattern of Corrupt Activity, now under review by a Scioto County Grand Jury.

Over $200,000 in cash and more than 100 slot machines have been seized to date. Officials say the case began when residents reported suspicious activity, prompting agents to identify and dismantle several locations tied to organized gambling.

“This case is a clear example of what can be accomplished when citizens speak up and law enforcement agencies work together,” said the Task Force Director, crediting the cooperation of local and state agencies for the operation’s success.

Participating agencies include the Scioto and Lawrence County Sheriff’s Offices, Portsmouth and New Boston Police Departments, the Scioto County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Ohio Organized Crime Investigations Commission.

Special assistance was provided by the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction’s Special Response and STAR teams.

The Task Force emphasized its continued commitment to dismantling illegal enterprises that endanger communities across southern Ohio.
