Boston, MA – After a quiet end to the week, Southern New England will see an increase in wet weather chances beginning late this weekend, according to the National Weather Service in Boston/Norton.
Sunday and Monday:
A system moving in from the west will bring widespread light rain to much of the region starting Sunday morning, continuing through Monday evening.
Rain chances climb to 60–80% across most areas, including Boston, Providence, Hartford, and Worcester.
Tuesday Outlook:
As colder air filters in behind the system, there’s a potential for snow on Tuesday, especially in higher elevations of western and central Massachusetts, southern Vermont, and northern Connecticut.
At this time, forecasters say it’s too early to determine exactly who will see accumulating snow, though low-elevation areas are more likely to remain as rain.
Midweek:
By Wednesday, precipitation chances drop, but temperatures remain cool, keeping the early signs of winter in the air.
Residents are encouraged to check back through the weekend for forecast updates as details on Tuesday’s potential snow event become clearer.
