Providence, RI – The National Weather Service in Boston/Norton, MA has issued a Special Weather Statement warning of reduced visibility and areas of dense fog overnight into Monday morning across southern New England, including Providence, Warwick, Cranston, and the surrounding metro area.
As of 12:30 a.m. EST Monday, visibility reports from Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport indicated fog and drizzle with visibility around 0.25 to 0.5 miles. Conditions are expected to remain poor into the Monday morning commute, with only gradual improvement by late morning.
Forecasters say light rain and areas of drizzle will persist through midday Monday, with temperatures rising to around 60°F before skies begin to clear Monday night. Winds will stay light and variable, turning west by evening.
Drivers are urged to slow down, use low-beam headlights, and maintain safe following distances due to rapidly changing visibility in foggy areas.
Weather improves for Veterans Day, with mostly sunny skies and highs near 41°F, followed by a stretch of dry, mild weather midweek with highs in the upper 40s to near 50°F.
