Las Vegas, NV – Dangerous heat will grip Southern Nevada through midweek, with temperatures soaring to near 111°F in Las Vegas on Wednesday, posing a high risk for heat-related illness. The National Weather Service warns the Extreme Heat Warning remains in effect through 8 p.m. Tuesday, with similar triple-digit temperatures expected Wednesday before easing slightly late in the week.

According to the National Weather Service in Las Vegas, the most intense heat will affect Las Vegas, Henderson, Mesquite, Boulder City, Pahrump, and Lake Mead National Recreation Area. Residents and visitors are urged to avoid strenuous outdoor activity during the afternoon, drink plenty of water, and check on vulnerable neighbors. Car interiors can become lethal within minutes—never leave children or pets unattended.

Outdoor workers should take frequent shaded breaks and wear light, loose clothing. Symptoms of heat exhaustion include dizziness, nausea, and heavy sweating; heat stroke is a medical emergency requiring 911.

While slight relief is expected Thursday with highs near 106°F, conditions remain dangerously hot until the weekend. More advisories may follow if heat risks persist.
