Las Vegas, NV – Rain chances are climbing across southern Nevada through the end of the week as the remnants of Hurricane Priscilla move into the region, according to the National Weather Service in Las Vegas.
Forecasters say the highest likelihood for precipitation will arrive late Thursday into Friday, bringing cooler temperatures, cloudy skies, and breezy winds to much of the Mojave Desert. Cities including Las Vegas, Kingman, and Lake Havasu City could see rain probabilities between 50% and 80% during peak hours on Friday morning.
The weather system is expected to taper off by Saturday, with drier conditions and slightly warmer temperatures returning by Sunday. Despite the moisture, forecasters do not anticipate significant flooding impacts at this time. However, drivers are advised to remain cautious on slick roads and to watch for rapidly changing weather conditions, especially in mountainous or desert areas.
This incoming system marks a sharp shift from the dry fall pattern seen earlier this month and may help improve short-term drought conditions in parts of southern Nevada and northwest Arizona.
