Bowling Green, KY – The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma, has issued a Tornado Watch (No. 635) for southern Kentucky, in effect until 10 p.m. CST Friday.
Counties under the watch include Allen, Clinton, Cumberland, McCreary, Monroe, and Wayne. The region may experience severe thunderstorms capable of producing tornadoes, damaging winds, and large hail as a strong storm system moves through the Tennessee Valley and southern Kentucky this evening.
Residents are urged to remain weather-aware and have multiple ways to receive warnings, including mobile alerts and NOAA Weather Radio. Those in mobile homes or temporary structures should identify a nearby sturdy building in case a warning is issued.
Meteorologists caution that storms could develop quickly and intensify into the evening hours. Anyone planning outdoor activities or travel should stay alert to rapidly changing conditions and be prepared to take shelter immediately if sirens sound.
