Evansville, Indiana – Southern Indiana is expected to see a relatively quiet stretch of winter weather next week, with limited chances for snow or rain and no strong signal for travel disruptions from Monday through Friday.

According to the National Weather Service Climate Prediction Center, southern Indiana falls within a below-normal precipitation zone during the January 12–16 period. Temperatures are forecast to trend above seasonal averages at times, which should limit winter precipitation and support extended dry conditions across much of the region.

Communities along the Ohio River, including Evansville, New Albany, Jeffersonville, and Madison, may see several consecutive dry days with only isolated, low-impact rain chances. Brief flurries cannot be ruled out farther north toward Bloomington or Columbus, but accumulations are expected to remain minimal. Major routes such as I-64, I-65, U.S. 41, and State Road 66 are not expected to experience prolonged weather-related issues during this stretch.

The Indiana Department of Transportation typically reminds drivers that overnight temperature drops can still create isolated slick spots on bridges and elevated roadways, especially near river valleys. Early morning commuters should remain cautious despite the quieter pattern.

The drier trend looks likely to persist through much of the workweek, though minor disturbances remain possible. Overall, widespread winter weather impacts across southern Indiana appear unlikely through Friday.
