Louisville, KY – Commuters and residents across Kentucky should prepare for hotter, drier conditions after isolated storms move through the area today, according to the National Weather Service Louisville.

The agency reports that scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue into Sunday morning before clearing out later in the day. Once the storms pass, the region will see a return to drier weather, with temperatures climbing into the upper 80s and low 90s through midweek.

According to the forecast, highs will range from 84 to 90 degrees Sunday, followed by 87 to 91 degrees Monday. Tuesday is expected to reach 86 to 91, while Wednesday could see 88 to 92 degrees. Skies will generally remain mostly sunny after Sunday’s storms, with little chance of rain early in the week.

The dry pattern is expected to worsen drought conditions already affecting parts of Kentucky. Officials warn that the lack of rainfall combined with above-average heat may increase stress on crops, lawns, and water resources. Residents are urged to conserve water where possible and remain mindful of outdoor burning restrictions.

The National Weather Service said a broader shift toward more unsettled weather could arrive later in the week, but details remain uncertain.
