Louisville, KY – A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for southern Indiana and central Kentucky until 7 a.m. Sunday. Drivers should prepare for icy road conditions, particularly along I-64, as light snow continues overnight and temperatures drop into the low 20s.

According to the National Weather Service, a quick-moving clipper system is bringing 1 to 2 inches of snow across the region, with localized totals up to 3 inches near I-64. Slippery conditions are expected on bridges and overpasses, and motorists are urged to reduce speeds and increase following distances.

Sunday morning will see lingering flurries before skies clear in the afternoon, with a high of 36°F. Winds will remain calm, but conditions will be cold through Sunday night, with lows near 19°F.

The week ahead brings a mix of sun and clouds, with highs climbing into the mid-30s Monday and a chance of additional light snow midday. Tuesday and Wednesday will remain sunny and dry, with highs reaching 44°F by midweek. However, frigid overnight lows will persist, dipping into the teens and low 20s.

Residents are reminded to clear snow from vehicles and avoid using cruise control on slick roads. Updates on changing conditions and weather alerts can be found at weather.gov or by tuning into NOAA Weather Radio.

Be prepared for rapidly changing conditions this week and exercise caution on the roads.
