Paducah, KY – Light to moderate snow will persist overnight across southern Illinois and southwest Indiana, prompting the National Weather Service to extend a Winter Weather Advisory until 6 a.m. CST Sunday. The advisory specifically impacts areas along Interstate 64, where slippery road conditions could pose hazards for early morning travelers.
According to the National Weather Service in Paducah, untreated roads, bridges, and overpasses are particularly at risk for icy conditions. Motorists are advised to exercise caution and allow extra travel time through early Sunday morning. Snowfall is expected to taper off before sunrise, but roads may remain slick.
Looking ahead, Monday brings a 30% chance of snow, mainly before 11 a.m., with high temperatures near 37°F. Winds will be calm, becoming northwesterly at 5 to 8 mph. By Monday night, temperatures will drop to 19°F under partly cloudy skies.
Tuesday marks a shift to sunny skies, but high temperatures will struggle to climb past 38°F. Winds will remain light and variable, offering a break from more turbulent weather. The midweek forecast is favorable, with highs reaching 51°F by Wednesday and clear conditions persisting into Thursday.
