Evansville, IN – A winter weather advisory remains in effect until noon CST (1 p.m. EST) today, bringing snow and ice to portions of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

According to the National Weather Service in Paducah, up to two inches of snow and a light glaze of ice are expected across the region. The wintry mix is creating hazardous travel conditions, particularly for the Tuesday morning commute.

Drivers should anticipate slippery roads and reduced visibility, especially in cities such as Evansville, Owensboro, Cape Girardeau, and Carbondale. Authorities urge travelers to slow down and use caution.

Temperatures are expected to remain near freezing through midday, limiting immediate improvement in road conditions. Local transportation departments are actively treating highways and major routes, but secondary roads and untreated surfaces may remain slick.
