Paducah, Kentucky – Drivers in western Kentucky and southern Illinois could face reduced visibility Tuesday morning and again Wednesday as dense fog settles across the region, while isolated thunderstorms threaten afternoon travel east of the Mississippi River.
According to the National Weather Service in Paducah, patchy to locally dense fog is expected early Tuesday, particularly around low-lying areas and river valleys. Visibility may drop to less than a quarter mile before 9 a.m., prompting travel concerns. Isolated thunderstorms are possible after 1 p.m., with cloud-to-ground lightning and heavy downpours the primary hazards.
In Paducah, skies will remain partly sunny with a high near 87°F Tuesday. Winds stay light, though fog could redevelop overnight into Wednesday. No widespread severe weather is expected, and spotter activation is not anticipated at this time.
