Pueblo, CO – Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected across southern Colorado on Saturday, with forecasters warning of a shift to cooler, wetter conditions early next week.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Pueblo, storms will develop Saturday afternoon, especially across mountain and foothill regions, before drier conditions settle in on Sunday. Temperatures are expected to remain warmer than normal through Monday, with highs ranging from the low 70s in Alamosa to the upper 80s in La Junta and Lamar.
Meteorologists say a strong cold front will arrive late Monday into Tuesday, ushering in a noticeable cooldown. Highs are forecast to drop by 10 to 15 degrees in many areas by midweek, along with increased chances for rain. Pueblo, Colorado Springs, and surrounding communities could see highs dip into the mid-60s by Wednesday.
The NWS advises residents to prepare for changing travel conditions, as the incoming system may bring widespread showers and a return to fall-like weather.
