Pueblo, CO – Southern Colorado will experience unseasonably warm weather today, with near-record temperatures expected across the plains before a cold front arrives late tonight, according to the National Weather Service in Pueblo.
Forecasters say highs will reach the upper 70s to low 80s across the region under sunny skies, thanks to strong upper-level high pressure. Record highs for this date include 81°F in Pueblo (2008) and 76°F in Colorado Springs (1941)—both of which may be challenged today.
Winds will remain light through most of the afternoon, generally under 15 mph, with occasional gusts near 25 mph over mountain peaks. The warm air mass will give way to a cold front overnight, dropping temperatures back to seasonal levels for Monday.
Dry weather will continue into the new week, but residents can expect a noticeable cooldown after today’s unusually warm finish to the weekend.
