Pueblo, CO – A Flood Watch remains in effect across parts of southern Colorado through Tuesday morning, as another surge of tropical moisture pushes into the eastern San Juan Mountains and the Upper Rio Grande Valley, according to the National Weather Service in Pueblo.

Forecasters warn that 1 to 3 inches of additional rain could fall between Monday and Tuesday, bringing a renewed threat of flash flooding and river rises in areas already saturated from earlier rainfall. The watch includes Creede, South Fork, Cumbres Pass, and Wolf Creek Pass.

Officials say excessive runoff may result in flooding of creeks, streams, and low-lying areas, particularly in locations that have already received significant rainfall. At the Wolf Creek weather station, more than half an inch of rain was recorded between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. Monday, highlighting the ongoing intensity of the storm.

Residents and travelers are urged to monitor local forecasts and remain alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living near rivers or in flood-prone areas should be prepared to move to higher ground if conditions worsen.
