COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado’s weekend weather will bring classic fall swings — chilly dawns, crisp air, and warm, breezy afternoons. But the National Weather Service in Pueblo warns that frost and fire danger could briefly overlap before calm, dry conditions return by early next week.

Friday morning starts cold with lows near 37°F along the Palmer Divide and across northern El Paso County. Sunshine dominates through the day, sending highs toward 67°F by afternoon. However, forecasters caution that some spots east of I-25 may see patchy frost early Saturday, while strong winds could still heighten fire danger in the southern plains. Residents with outdoor plants should cover them, and ranchers are urged to monitor livestock water tanks through early Saturday.

By Saturday, calm winds and plenty of sunshine make for a near-perfect fall day across the Front Range. Colorado Springs will see highs in the mid-70s with a light westerly breeze. Sunday brings similar warmth, peaking around 76°F, before breezy conditions return late in the day. Those heading toward Pueblo or along I-25 will face dry, clear travel conditions all weekend.

Next week begins on a brighter note with highs near 73°F Monday and light winds continuing through midweek. A weak system may bring isolated high-elevation showers Monday night into Tuesday, but no major impacts are expected. For now, Colorado’s high country and plains alike will enjoy a textbook fall weekend — crisp, calm, and mostly sunny.
