Santa Barbara, California — Strong overnight winds continue to sweep across parts of Santa Barbara County and the Antelope Valley, with gusts reaching 40 to 50 mph expected through 5 a.m. Saturday, according to the National Weather Service in Los Angeles.

The Wind Advisory remains in effect for the Santa Ynez Mountains, Gaviota, Montecito Hills, Refugio Beach, and along the Interstate 5 Corridor, including Gorman, Palmdale, and Lancaster. These northwest winds are expected to create hazardous travel conditions, especially for high-profile vehicles on mountain passes and open stretches of highway.

Residents are urged to secure outdoor items, as loose objects and weakened tree limbs could become airborne. Minor power outages are possible in exposed foothill and coastal communities.

Conditions will gradually ease by sunrise, though breezy weather is expected to persist through the weekend across Southern California’s mountains and deserts.
