San Diego, CA – Light showers could interrupt weekend plans across San Diego County as a weak Pacific system brings increasing cloud cover and rain chances through Sunday night.
According to the National Weather Service, San Diego will see mostly cloudy skies overnight into Friday, with daytime highs near 77°F. While Friday remains dry, clouds will increase again by Friday night, setting the stage for potential showers after 11 a.m. Saturday. Rain chances climb from 20% Saturday to 40% by Sunday, with the greatest likelihood of precipitation Sunday afternoon and evening.
On Saturday, winds will shift from the north to southwest at 5–10 mph, bringing slightly cooler air and elevated humidity. While totals are expected to be light, residents from Chula Vista to Oceanside should prepare for damp roadways, slower travel, and possible disruptions to outdoor events. Evening showers may linger through Sunday night before clearing by Monday.
Daytime highs stay in the mid-70s throughout the weekend, with overnight lows dipping into the low 60s. Drivers are advised to use headlights during rain and allow extra travel time during wet conditions.
Rain chances taper off early Monday as drier, sunnier conditions return for the start of the workweek.
