EAST LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Patchy fog continues to blanket East L.A. and surrounding communities early this week, creating hazy morning commutes before sunshine breaks through by late morning. Drivers along I-5, the 101, and surface routes through Boyle Heights and Monterey Park may experience reduced visibility during early rush hours through Wednesday.
According to the National Weather Service in Los Angeles, the marine layer will persist through midweek with lows near 60°F overnight and highs climbing into the upper 70s by Tuesday. Winds will remain calm to light, shifting southwest in the afternoons at 5 to 10 mph.
Residents should allow extra time for travel during fog-prone hours and use low-beam headlights. Coastal and valley communities, including Pasadena and Commerce, can expect gradual clearing each day before mostly sunny afternoons.
By Wednesday night, skies are expected to clear completely, with daytime highs nearing 80°F by Thursday. A slight chance of light rain could develop late Thursday night before conditions stabilize again for the weekend.
