Los Angeles, CA – The morning air in East L.A. sits calm and warm beneath a cloudless sky — a quintessential Southern California start to the day. But as the sun climbs higher, so will the temperatures, with highs pushing close to 90°F across much of Los Angeles County heading into the weekend.
According to the National Weather Service in Oxnard, light winds and abundant sunshine will dominate through Saturday, making it a near-perfect setup for Halloween festivities, late-season barbecues, and coastal drives. However, the clear conditions also bring a reminder: dry air and calm winds heighten fire danger across inland hills and canyons. Residents should avoid outdoor burning and stay weather-aware through Friday.
By Saturday evening, patchy fog begins creeping back along the coast and low valleys, especially near downtown and the San Gabriel foothills. Sunday stays mild, with highs near 81°F, before marine layer clouds and cooler air re-establish their hold by Monday.
Looking further into early November, long-range models hint at a pattern flip — cooler temperatures, thicker marine layers, and even early snow potential for the Sierra Nevada and northern California ranges between November 9–18. While Los Angeles stays dry for now, the shift marks the region’s gradual step into the winter pattern.
After a warm Halloween weekend, SoCal’s endless-summer stretch may finally be easing toward its seasonal turn.
