Los Angeles, CA – Fire danger is rising across parts of Southern California as forecasters issue a Red Flag Warning from 6 a.m. Tuesday through 6 p.m. Wednesday, driven by strong Santa Ana winds and very low humidity across Ventura and Los Angeles counties.

According to the National Weather Service in Los Angeles/Oxnard, the alert covers the Western San Gabriel Mountains, Santa Susana Mountains, and Southeastern Ventura County Valleys. Northeast winds are expected to reach 15 to 30 mph, with gusts up to 45 mph—strongest on Tuesday morning and again early Wednesday.

Forecasters warn humidity will drop to 5–10% by Wednesday, with poor overnight recovery in wind-prone areas. Such dry, windy conditions could lead to rapid fire growth if any ignition occurs.

Residents are urged to avoid outdoor burning, secure loose materials, and stay ready to evacuate if wildfires ignite. Local officials remind the public to review wildfire plans and stay updated via readyforwildfire.org and wildfirerisk.org.

The Red Flag Warning remains in effect until 6 p.m. Wednesday, with critical fire weather conditions possible throughout the period.
