Los Angeles, California – Southern California is expected to settle into a warmer-than-normal pattern late next week, bringing a stretch of mild, dry weather and a noticeable break from typical late-January coolness.

According to the National Weather Service Climate Prediction Center, Southern California is favored to trend above average in temperatures from Saturday through the following Friday as colder air remains displaced well north of the region. High pressure building over the Southwest will help reinforce the warming trend and limit storm activity.

Along the coast, including Los Angeles and San Diego, daytime highs are expected to climb into the upper 60s to low 70s, with overnight lows remaining mild. Marine influences may still bring some morning clouds, but afternoon sunshine should allow temperatures to rebound quickly.

Inland areas, including Riverside, San Bernardino, and the Inland Empire, could see highs reach the low to mid-70s, creating springlike afternoons. Farther inland valleys may run even warmer under mostly sunny skies, while nights remain cool but above seasonal norms.

Across the deserts, temperatures are also expected to trend above normal, though breezy afternoon winds may develop at times through passes and canyons. No significant weather hazards are anticipated.

With no strong Pacific systems expected to move inland, the warm and dry pattern appears steady through the end of the month. Additional updates will follow if conditions change, but confidence remains high in a prolonged stretch of above-normal temperatures across Southern California.
