Ontario, CA — A magnitude 3.0 earthquake shook the area southeast of Ontario, California, early Sunday morning. Residents across the region reported feeling tremors as the quake hit at approximately 3:58 a.m. local time.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the earthquake’s epicenter was located about 4 kilometers southeast of Ontario. The quake struck at a depth of 6.5 kilometers, making it shallow enough for surrounding communities to feel the impact. The agency recorded more than 100 responses from people who felt the quake, with most reports coming from Ontario and nearby areas.

Residents described mild to moderate shaking. The USGS intensity map rated the quake’s impact at a level IV, indicating light shaking with no reported damage. The California Integrated Seismic Network confirmed the quake was detected automatically, adding it was felt within a 250-kilometer radius.

No injuries or significant damage were reported following the tremors. Authorities have not issued any warnings or advisories. Experts remind residents to stay prepared for potential aftershocks and continue monitoring updates.
