San Diego, California – Triple-digit temperatures are expected to blanket much of inland Southern California through Friday evening, with highs reaching 106°F in the Inland Empire and up to 102°F in the valleys and mountains of San Diego County. Residents should limit outdoor exposure and prepare for possible heat-related illnesses.

According to the National Weather Service in San Diego, heat advisories remain in effect until 8 p.m. Friday for San Diego, Riverside, San Bernardino, and Orange County interior zones. Thursday is expected to be the most intense day of the stretch, particularly east of I-15 where temperatures will soar.

Cities including Escondido, El Cajon, Poway, and San Marcos could see highs near 102°F. In the mountains, Julian and Idyllwild may also hit the 90s and low 100s. For the Inland Empire—covering Corona, Ontario, Moreno Valley, and Rancho Cucamonga—temperatures will top out between 104° and 106°F.

Those in the Santa Ana foothills and Orange County interior areas like Irvine, Garden Grove, and Anaheim will experience persistent 90s, with limited overnight relief. Officials advise residents to stay in air-conditioned spaces, drink water frequently, and avoid physical exertion during the afternoon peak.

Car interiors can become deadly within minutes—do not leave children or pets inside vehicles under any circumstance.

Heat advisories may be extended if temperatures remain elevated into the weekend.
