GLENDALE, Calif. – Glendale will hold onto summer warmth through midweek before patchy fog and a slight chance of showers cool things down into the weekend. Afternoon highs near 86 Wednesday will dip into the upper 70s by Saturday as cloud cover builds.

According to the National Weather Service in Los Angeles, fog is expected to return late Thursday night into Friday morning, reducing visibility for early commuters on the 134 and 5 freeways. A 20 percent chance of light rain lingers Saturday morning, though forecasters note the system should clear quickly, leaving most of the weekend partly sunny.

Drivers should prepare for slower travel conditions during foggy morning commutes, particularly in lower valleys and near coastal routes. Caltrans advises motorists to use headlights and allow extra stopping distance if fog thickens.

By Sunday, skies should clear with highs in the upper 70s, offering cooler, pleasant conditions compared with this week’s early heat.
