Southern California Heat Advisory: Inland Empire, San Diego Valley Temps Hit 104° Through Thursday Night

San Diego, CA – Triple-digit temperatures will scorch inland Southern California from Wednesday morning through Thursday night, prompting heat advisories across the region. Areas east of Interstate 15, including Escondido and Poway, could feel the worst of it, with highs peaking between 97 and 104 degrees.

According to the National Weather Service in San Diego, a heat advisory remains in effect from 10 a.m. Wednesday to 8 p.m. Thursday for the Inland Empire, San Diego County valleys, and nearby mountain communities below 5,000 feet. Moderate HeatRisk levels could lead to heat-related illnesses for those without adequate cooling or hydration.

Cities like Riverside, San Bernardino, and Fontana may see temperatures up to 104°, while San Marcos, Santee, and El Cajon will hover just above 100°. Even mountain towns like Julian, Pine Valley, and Idyllwild are expected to reach the upper 80s to high 90s.

Residents are urged to stay indoors during peak heat hours, drink plenty of water, and check on vulnerable neighbors. Cooling centers may open across the region, and local agencies advise limiting outdoor work or recreation between noon and 6 p.m.

Heat advisories remain active through 8 p.m. Thursday. Additional warnings could follow if conditions persist.
