Riverside, CA – Dangerous heat continues to grip Southern California’s inland counties as temperatures soar into the 90s Tuesday, triggering heat advisories from Orange County to the Inland Empire and San Diego’s mountain valleys through 8 p.m. Wednesday.

According to the National Weather Service in San Diego, a Heat Advisory remains in effect for Riverside and San Bernardino County valleys, Orange County inland areas, and foothill communities like Poway, Rancho Cucamonga, and Julian. Daytime highs are expected to peak between 90°F and 96°F, with the warmest conditions below 4,500 feet elevation.

Santa Ana foothills and cities such as Irvine, Mission Viejo, and Fullerton will see temperatures near 92°F, creating what the NWS categorizes as a “Moderate HeatRisk.” Health officials warn that prolonged exposure may lead to heat-related illnesses, especially for vulnerable populations.

Residents are urged to stay indoors during peak afternoon heat, remain hydrated, and check on elderly neighbors. Air-conditioned cooling centers are recommended for those without adequate home cooling. Outdoor workers and pets are particularly at risk during this heat stretch.

The advisory is set to expire by 8 p.m. Wednesday, but officials warn additional alerts could follow if conditions persist.
