Los Angeles, CA – Dense fog is affecting parts of Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo counties early Sunday morning, reducing visibility to a quarter mile or less.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Los Angeles, a Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 8 a.m. PST for Ventura County beaches, the inland coastal areas, and the Central Coast, including Santa Maria, Pismo Beach, and Santa Ynez Valley.

Motorists are advised to drive with caution, use low-beam headlights, and allow extra stopping distance. The fog may cause hazardous travel conditions, especially along Highway 101, Highway 1, and other coastal routes.

Foggy conditions are common in these coastal areas during winter, but drivers should remain alert for sudden visibility changes. The advisory is expected to expire by mid-morning as temperatures rise and fog dissipates.

For real-time road conditions, travelers can check Caltrans QuickMap or local traffic reports.
