Warner Springs, CA – A minor earthquake shook parts of northern San Diego County early Friday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The quake, recorded at 3.2 magnitude, struck at 2:07 a.m. local time Friday about 3 kilometers southeast of Warner Springs at a depth of 16.4 kilometers.

According to the California Integrated Seismic Network, the earthquake was felt by some residents in nearby communities including Warner Springs, San Ysidro, and the Los Coyotes Reservation. Early reports on the USGS “Did You Feel It?” system showed light shaking but no immediate damage.

Warner Springs lies in the backcountry northeast of San Diego, near the Cleveland National Forest. Though Friday’s quake was minor, the region is seismically active due to several fault lines that run through inland Southern California.

Officials remind residents that even small earthquakes serve as a reminder to review emergency plans and keep supplies ready. No injuries or damage had been reported as of Friday morning.
