Mobile, Alabama – Residents across southern Alabama could notice a noticeably milder, more springlike pattern setting in late next week as above-normal temperatures build across the central Gulf Coast.

According to the National Weather Service Climate Prediction Center, southern Alabama is favored to run above average in temperatures from Saturday through the following Friday as colder air remains displaced well north of the region. The setup supports persistent southerly flow and limited intrusion of winter cold fronts.

Along the coast, including Mobile and Gulf Shores, afternoon highs are expected to reach the upper 60s to mid-70s, with overnight lows staying milder than typical for late January. The warmer pattern may also bring higher humidity levels, especially during the afternoon and evening hours.

Farther inland, including Dothan and the Wiregrass region, temperatures are expected to trend several degrees above normal, supporting pleasant daytime conditions and cool but not cold nights. Patchy morning fog may develop at times, particularly in low-lying areas and near rivers.

With no strong cold fronts expected during this period, the warm trend appears steady through the end of the month. Residents are encouraged to stay weather-aware for fog during morning travel, but no significant temperature swings are anticipated at this time.
