Bordeaux, WY – The National Weather Service in Cheyenne has upgraded the High Wind Watch for the Bordeaux area to a High Wind Warning, effective 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, October 27.

Forecasters said wind gusts could reach up to 65 miles per hour, especially along Interstate 25 between Wheatland and Cheyenne. The strong winds will create dangerous driving conditions, particularly for lightweight and high-profile vehicles such as semis, campers, and trailers.

The NWS warned drivers to use extreme caution and to monitor travel conditions through Wyoming 511 before heading out. Blowing dust and crosswinds could reduce visibility and make it difficult to maintain control of vehicles in open areas.

Areas impacted include Bordeaux, Garrett, and portions of the Shirley Basin, with the strongest winds expected late Monday morning through the afternoon.

The warning follows several recent high-wind events across southeast Wyoming this fall, as seasonal cold fronts move through the region.
