MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Thick fog wraps the Lake Michigan shoreline this morning, softening streetlights and leaving a chill on parked cars and rooftops. Drivers across southeastern Wisconsin are urged to use caution as patchy dense fog lingers through daybreak, reducing visibility along I-43, I-94, and rural highways stretching toward Waukesha and Sheboygan.
According to the National Weather Service in Milwaukee/Sullivan, a Hazardous Weather Outlook remains in effect early this morning for much of east-central and southern Wisconsin. The dense fog, coupled with near-freezing temperatures in low-lying areas, may create slick patches on bridges and elevated roads. Conditions are expected to steadily improve by mid-morning as sunshine breaks through and winds shift southwest.
By Monday, skies will turn bright and temperatures will climb toward the mid-50s, reaching near 60°F by Tuesday under a gentle southerly flow. That pattern will hold through midweek before clouds thicken again late Wednesday into Thursday, when a weak front could bring scattered light rain.
Residents can take advantage of this calm stretch to finish leaf cleanup or prep gardens before colder air arrives later in November. The Climate Prediction Center continues to monitor weak La Niña conditions expected to persist into winter, a setup that can bring wider temperature swings and the occasional early snow chance across the Upper Midwest.
For now, it’s a quiet start to November — cool mornings, warm afternoons, and just enough fog to remind Wisconsin that winter is waiting in the wings.
