Philadelphia, Pa. – September storms may disrupt Tuesday travel in southeastern Pennsylvania, with showers and isolated thunderstorms likely after mid-afternoon. Drivers on I-95, I-76, and other major corridors should prepare for wet roads and slower evening commutes.

According to the National Weather Service, Philadelphia will reach a high near 85 degrees Tuesday before clouds build and storms move in after 2 p.m. The chance of rain rises through the evening, with localized downpours possible. Winds from the southwest will keep conditions muggy, adding to reduced visibility and slippery pavement.

Commuters should leave extra travel time and avoid low-lying roads prone to quick flooding. SEPTA riders could also see weather-related delays during the evening rush. Residents are urged to keep devices charged and secure outdoor furniture in case of gusty winds with thunderstorms.

Wednesday brings another unsettled day, with highs near 80 and a 40% chance of afternoon storms. The wet pattern continues through Friday, with daily rain chances ranging from 40% to 60%. While rainfall totals will remain light for most, any thunderstorm could produce heavier bursts.

Looking ahead, cooler air is expected to hold off until the weekend, offering a brief taste of early fall with highs settling in the mid-70s.

Warnings remain in effect for showers through Friday, with conditions improving by Sunday afternoon. More advisories may follow if stronger storms develop midweek.
