Detroit, MI – Southeastern Michigan is set to experience periods of storms this morning and throughout the afternoon as a low-pressure system moves through the region. High temperatures have already peaked, with cooler air expected to filter in by the end of the day. According to the US National Weather Service Detroit/Pontiac, drier conditions are anticipated through Friday as high pressure becomes established over the Great Lakes.
Today’s high temperatures will range from 71°F in Pontiac to 77°F in Monroe, with rain chances near 100% across the area. Thunderstorms are predicted around 2 p.m., bringing significant rainfall. Low temperatures tonight will drop to around 57°F in most areas, providing some relief from the humidity.
The forecast for the remainder of the week shows a mix of weather conditions. Wednesday is expected to be sunny with a high of 79°F, offering a brief respite from the rain. However, rain returns on Thursday, with temperatures reaching 82°F. Friday will see partly cloudy skies and a high of 84°F. The weekend will bring cooler temperatures, with highs in the upper 70s and a chance of rain on Sunday.
